With a workforce of over 2700 people, a strong marketing and distribution network, and manufacturing plants in Sonepat, Nabha and Rajahmundry, it manufactures Horlicks, Boost, Viva and Maltova, Biscuits and promotes and distributes Eno, Crocin, Iodex, Foodles and other health and nutrition products.

WHAT PLACEMENTS ARE ON OFFER?
We offer a whole range of industrial placements as part of a recognised sandwich degree. With training packages designed to meet your individual needs and a performance development plan, you’ll be able to build on the skills you’ve gained at university by applying them in a practical environment.

Our Manufacturing placements cover the Engineering and Science disciplines. Working in our Global Manufacturing and Supply department, your role will depend on your chosen subject. Engineering students will be involved in the design, delivery and validation of new manufacturing equipment and processes; Science students will work with experts in their field and the latest technology to support the development and release of pharmaceutical products.

IT is vital to all aspects of the GSK business. Our placements cover a wide range of roles, from business analysis and project management to networking and user support. You’ll play a part in projects delivering the tools and services our people need.

Research & Development is the core part of our business. We have a number of placement opportunities across a range of disciplines, including biology, chemistry, engineering and clinical research.

In Sales and Marketing you’ll be part of our Consumer Healthcare business, promoting key brands such as Lucozade, Aquafresh, Ribena and Niquitin. A unique opportunity to develop a commercial career, you’ll help us grow our market-leading positions in Smoking Control, Dental Care, Analgesics and Nutrition.

Our Communications placements cover Corporate – where you’ll be involved in managing the company image and reputation to employees and the wider world – and Digital, which is responsible for corporate messages delivered via our company website, Twitter, Facebook and Flickr.

A Human Resources placement will give you the opportunity to work with people across our business to develop valuable business skills. Covering the areas of Graduate Recruitment, Business Human Resources and Leadership & Organisational Development, you’ll gain first hand experience of the recruitment and training challenges faced by a global organisation.

Our Finance placements will give you commercial exposure to a FMCG environment. Working with our Sales team for our key brands, including Lucozade, Ribena and Beechams, you’ll also gain a valuable insight into the financial workings of one of the biggest healthcare companies in the world.

In Procurement, you’ll either focus on business planning – developing and managing compliance and governance processes – or R&D, dealing specifically with suppliers to our research and development organisation.

Our Supply Chain placements will allow you to apply a variety of supply chain modelling tools and techniques in a practical situation, as well as giving you a valuable insight into the challenges of a global company.

1. MEDICAL REPRESENTATIVES
Positions – 850
Work Location – Across India

Responsibilities

  • Achieve and exceed sales target as per the company’s guidelines & policy
  • Promote Company’s brand & make products available at Chemist / Retail outlet, etc.
  • Increase and generate prescription base in a defined area.
  • Use strategically inputs and promotions materials given by Marketing Dept. from time to time to customers.
  • To conduct market research and to identify potential market and transfer market information.
  • Organise events, seminars, etc. for promoting brands.

Requirements

  • Excellent Interpersonal skills & Communication skills
  • Planning and Analytical Skills
  • Flair for selling (Pharma selling)
  • Aggressive for meeting targets / deadlines
  • Good understanding of Pharma Market & strong network
  • Excellent Scientific Knowledge

2. MEDICAL COMMUNICATION EXECUTIVES
Positions – 400
Work Location – Across India

Responsibilities

  • Requirements – Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor of Science , Bachelor of Pharmacy or Master of Science in Biology, Pharmacy/Pharmacology or equivalent.
  • At least a year of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Preferably Junior Executives specializing in Sales – Corporate or equivalent. Job role in Sales Executive/Account Manager or equivalent.

3. SALES EXECUTIVES
Positions – 500
Work Location – Across India

Responsibilities

  • Achieve and exceed sales target as per the company’s guidelines & policy
