Educop World team attended various campus placement events for 2012 graduates and were surprised with huge expenditure done by some reputed colleges. Some colleges informed that they spend up to 10 lakh to organize the events. When our team asked about success rate – they got shock, when they know that success rate per candidates reached as high as 1 lakh per student in one case and 11,000 per students was the least.
Here is how the calculation was done with one case:
1. Amount paid to big consultant: 7,00,000
2. Amount spend on hospitality of 10 companies participated: 3,00,000
3. Amount on Extra payment to college staff and infrastructure: 50,000
Total: Rs. 10,50,000

Number of fake companies that came to event: 6

Number of students shortlisted: 50
Number of students offered job: 15
Number of students finally joined: 9
Amount spend on placement of one candidate – 10,50,000/9 = Rs. 1,16,666 p/student.
